Night Time Raining at Mount Allan

Night Time Raining at Mount Allan

Grace Kemarre Robinya (Highly Commended)

"All the women and kids and puppy dogs sitting on the mountain, looking at raining, all the stars and rain clouds. This place is Mount Allan [station]. I lived there long time ago. All the cars going for picnic, night time shooting, finding the kangaroo. All the people's houses, no one sleeping, everyone is awake looking at the raining."

Grace Kemarre Robinya’s work celebrates memories from important locations and events in her life. Grace depicts the central desert she loves - cowboys riding horses, children swimming at waterholes, both people and animals dancing at Christmas celebrations. These fond memories convey Grace’s deep connection to her Country and for the communities where she has lived.
